The Merger with EMRT; changing your support.
Thankfully both organisation’s use the same banking group: CAF Bank Ltd, PO Box 289, West Malling, Kent, ME19 4TA. They have the same sort code so at the moment just the organisation names and account details differ. Currently these are:
LNER (GC) Heritage Trust: 00010221
East Midlands Railway Trust: 00018098
I have just spoken with the bank regarding regular payments to the LNER Trust and can now advise the best path forward:
Any new payments by cheque should be to the East Midlands Railway Trust. As we will be moving the Monthly Drawer any Annual Payments should follow this route. Please remember to let us know where you would like the money to go especially if it’s the Monthly Drawer as Karen will need to check or allocate draw numbers
Any single new payments by BACS should also be made to the East Midlands Railway Trust; sort code: 40-52-40 Account number: 00018098. Again, please remember to let us know to the campaign you’re supporting. You can still use the BACS transfer form from our existing website (www.lnergctrust.org) or email us via donate@lnergcrust.org.
Standing Orders: Donations. To assist us in a fairly complex transfer of donations, if you are able, please change the payment instructions to East Midlands Railway Trust; sort code: 40-52-40 Account number: 00018098; also if you can please change the payment to the 1st of the month. This will enable us to ensure that all donations have been successfully transferred. Once the merger is complete you will also need to change the account name. Remember to cancel the existing instruction!
Standing Orders: Monthly Draw. This will be the last transfer to take place and will be undertaken once the merger is complete.
Online Donations. Our new website is waiting in the wings and ready to go awaiting the final change of name. Until then please continue to use the old website for any information (including this), useful forms (BACS Transfer, Revised Monthly Drawer) and contact details.
Since I took over the role of treasurer over 5 years ago, I can hardly recall the number of times I have thanked you all for staying with us despite there being no trains, COVID Closures and other problems. Hopefully this is my final need to do so. The Ruddington and Rushcliffe Halt sites are looking great, the trains are running, and it is starting to feel like a true Heritage Transport Museum. Getting the proper support behind this is important so here’s to the newly formed East Midlands Transport Heritage Trust.
Just one final point: as the LNER GC Trust Mainline and the EMRT Forward campaigns have the same focus of supporting the maintenance and development of the infrastructure required for reunification they also will be merged; by weight of the number of donors this be henceforth the FORWARD Fund.
Martin Roe – Treasurer LNER GC Heritage Trust and acting Treasurer for the merger.
