We’d like to thank our many supporters who have been backing our recent appeals.
We are enormously please to announce that the Carriage Shed has now been completed and was used for the first time for our recent beer festival.
Additionally, the work on Bridge 302A has been completed and is fit for purpose once again. Whilst your generosity paid for about 50% of the work, the remainder had to come from our limited reserves; primarily from our Mainline Appeal fund which has been running for several years. The Mainline Appeal was established to ensure that the original GCR Mainline remains fit for use and whilst it was vital in fixing the bridge in time for our Christmas Santa event it is essentially broke. So, to remain viable for the future, we have left the appeal fund running albeit as a lower priority.
Inevitably, we still have more work to undertake and have now refocussed on getting the toilet block completed in time for Christmas. As always, we do need your help in financing this project and this appeal is now our most urgent.
We do realise that all we seem to do is continually ask for your support, but thanks to that we have already managed to run our first trains for over 4 years; have a safe home for our Mark 1 carriages during the winter months and are ready (toilets permitting) for the Christmas Santa event.
Thanks again for your support.
